A Happy New Year Indeed!

I believe that 2010 is going to be an awesome year for the Body of Christ. I am more excited about this year than I have ever been about any other year. I know that my past is behind me and what’s done is done and as long as I keep my trust in the Lord there isn’t anything that I can’t do. And that word is for everyone who believes. I especially want this article to prepare and encourage the body of Christ. I think we really should think about having an attitude of expectancy for the New Year ahead.

Now is the time to let the past be the past and move full speed ahead. Walk in the power of knowing that you are a child of God and that you will not be defeated you will not be overcome. Despite what you current situation says. Despite what you have faced this last year. God is a God of completion and what he started in you he will finish. I believe more people are hungry for the Lord than ever before, I believe this year we are going to see an outpouring of the Holy Spirit like we have never seen before. I know people talk about the Holy Spirit all the time, but very few actually experience the awesomeness of his power.

What people aren’t getting in the church they are getting at home, they are crying out to God and worshipping him and they are entering into his presence. Because we are still afraid of what people think and what they might say. I also think because there is so much criticism in the church and hypocrisy that we have hindered the Holy Spirit.

I believe the people are tired of mediocrity. People are getting desperate for God they are tired of church as usual. They want God in his entirety. They want all and everything the Lord has for them. God’s people have cried out long enough and he is answering their prayers. And while it is extremely exciting for the majority it is terrifying for others. Some people do not like change. But whether you like it or not it is inevitable. God is moving and the church people need to get ready.

Some people may ask what does that mean get ready. In part that means God will be moving you out of your comfort zones and there is no room for luke warm. I also believe that new breeds of people are coming into the knowledge of Christ and they will be coming to your church. People who don’t look like you, they have tattoos and piercing, they are homosexuals and prostitutes ex cons and drug addicts. But they are coming to church to find Jesus and be delivered.

But what is more awesome than that, and I know that the church will not want to receive it, but those same people I just spoke of are children of God who will be released from bondage and will be used for his glory and they will be preaching and teaching in a church near you! They will be giving their testimonies and reaching a generation that we couldn’t touch.. So be ready to set your prejudices aside, because there will be no room for division in the church either. The book of acts clearly states, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. Acts 2:17.

But if we receive it and allow God to do what he needs and wants to do without any objections from us, we will see blessings beyond measure. God will fill our cups till they are running over. He will fill our churches, he will heal our bodies, he will deliver our loved ones and he will bless us financially, he will move us into a new place in him. “Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us.” Ephesians 3:20.

So as believers I want to encourage you and tell you that God isn’t finished with you yet. He will finish what he started and I believe you will be moving into a new level of maturity in your walk with Christ. Just hang in there and trust that he knows what he is doing. Come into the New Year with a spirit of expectancy; know that you are more than conquerors! And receive all that God would have for you. Blessings to you all. ~Gypsy
