This Too Shall Pass

***This too shall pass***
I just wanted to encourage you today and remind you of how much God loves you. I know there are many of you that are struggling and you feel as if God has forgotten you. He has NOT! Many of you are suffering from depression, anxiety, physical pain, emotional turmoil and feeling like your world has caved in on you. Maybe your marriage is suffering, maybe your going through a nasty divorce. Perhaps you lost your home due to foreclosure. Maybe you even had to file bankruptcy.
I know all these feelings. everything I just mentioned I have experienced in the last 2 years. On top of all that my ex husband, the father to my 3 children died suddenly. It wasn’t easy. It was one of the darkest times in my life. Not to mention I was 70# overweight. But instead of letting all that stuff send me into a downward spiral…when I was at rock bottom I looked up to Jesus! He carried me every step of the way. My favorite scripture is Romans 8:28 “All things work for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.” Everything the enemy tried to use to destroy me, only made me stronger. I am a better person, wife, mother and child of God because of those hard times. I am happier and healthier than I have ever been. Friends listen, God loves you so much, and even when you feel like the world has given up on you. God never will. Trust Him and HE will carry you through the fire. I love you so much, your going to be okay, ((Big Hugs))

Your Braver Than You Think You Are

Fear, the word alone is intimidating. It can debilitate us in a matter of seconds. Ever felt it? I don’t know of anyone, who hasn’t at some point in their lives. But sadly, many believers walk in fear. They are afraid of many things. It is the fear of the unknown, the fear of failure, of loss, and even of success.

But we know that fear does not come from God, it comes from the enemy. The word says, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” 2Timothy 1:7. The enemy uses fear, but God uses faith. God says he gives all of us a measure of faith. One of the World English Dictionaries definition of faith is; a strong or unshakeable belief in something, especially without proof or evidence. When you have faith, no proof is needed.

I want DANGEROUS Faith……….the kind that does whatever, when ever, however God asks, without question, without fear!! I want the kind of faith that doesn’t just leave a mark on the world after I’m gone, but a huge dent. The quickest way to grow in your walk in the Lord is to be open, and to be willing. To do whatever it is God is requiring of you, even if you don’t understand what it is.

When God says to do something, it’s because He has a plan and something great will come from it. Many people’s lives will be changed because of your obedience, including your own. God doesn’t give us the full picture of our lives, although that would be great and truly appreciated by all, of that I’m most certain.

However, that requires no faith at all. When I was running for city council, I sought the Lord and I asked Him to just give me confirmation that I would win, if He did then I felt I could go on no matter how afraid I was .But you see, God knew that if he had told me, “Gypsy I want you to do this, but you’re not going to win.” I would have been like, “What? Then what’s the point?” You see, He took me out of my box completely. But He already knew I would do it afraid, thing is, I didn’t. So my faith was taken to a new level, out of that one act of obedience.

But what I want to encourage you with is, you are stronger than you think you are. You can do great things, but you have to believe in yourself. And why wouldn’t you? God already does. He would never ask anything of you that He knew you were not capable of accomplishing.

Sometimes, you just need to do it, to prove to yourself that you can. God has great things for all of us, but it requires action on our part. Think about this; “what would you do if you knew you could not and would not fail?” Now, that’s powerful. Friends everything you need to be successful is already in you, God already created it. While you’re waiting on Him, I hear the Lord saying, “I am waiting on you, what will you believe in me for today? Be blessed and encouraged my friends, you are so much stronger than you think you are.

What Makes a Good Elected Official?

WHAT MAKES A GOOD LEADER?~ MY ANSWER;

A good leader speaks with dignity, but listens with care. When speaking, he/she knows that words are forever.

He she carries himself or herself with poise, knowing how they carry themselves reflects those they represent.

A good leader considers his/her decisions, and how it will impact everyone.He/she makes decisions with thought, and gives consideration to all parties.
He or she believes in transparency, and is willing to give reason behind his/her decisions, even knowing they may not be popular.
A good leader is not commanding, but is in command of his/her position and duties.
A good leader does not lead alone, but takes input from those around him… because a good leader surrounds himself with good people.
He/she is willing to say “I was wrong” and admit mistakes or poor decisions. But he/she gives credit to those who helped him when a job is well done.
A good leader hold no favors, and makes no promises, to family, friends, or those who help him get elected through financial support.
He/she is willing to open large-dollar, community-impact projects for bidding even if the rules say it’s not necessary. Because she knows she is not spending her own money, but is protecting it as if it were.
He/she is passionate about his/her position, but not consumed by it.
He she knows that documentation and public support are critical to success, because someday it’ll be someone else’s problem or process.
And finally, he/she cares. And shows it.

An Attitude of Praise

I recently attended a leadership seminar and let me just say that it was amazing. I learned so much that weekend, but if I brought home anything it was, that there is great liberty in loving and worshipping my Father.

The worship service was like attending a concert, it was loud and fun and anointed. Men, women and children were dancing wherever they had the most room, they were dancing and singing before the Lord.

The energy was amazing, it was contagious. And yes they even ran around the church. I know some of you might be thinking “what?” But trust me when I say it was done in order in fun and all for Jesus. Some of you may be  content standing up in a quiet church just clapping your hands and that’s perfectly ok. God honors the heart regardless if you prefer quiet or loud.

Personally I prefer loud, when it comes to worship anyway. I want to dance and be free I want to lift my hands and my voice without fear or condemnation. And I did.

The praises of the people created such an amazing atmosphere. The worship leader, a true psalmist took us into heartfelt worship and a powerful anointing. People were weeping and falling on their faces. God filled that place like I had not felt in a very long time.

And I believe it was because the people were hungry, they cried out to him, they just loved on Him with no regard to time. It brought tears to my eyes thinking about how this act of intimate worship must have brought great joy to God.

I believe that is what most of us are missing in our personal lives and our church’s. True Worship. The kind that says, “nothing else matters.” The kind that says, “I’m not leaving here until I get what I came for, prayer, healing etc.”

A lot of you have asked why you can’t feel God, well maybe God is using his humble servant today to let you know how God will be manifested in your life. Through Worship!! God says he inhabits the praises of his people, so if we praise him he will enter in.

I believe we need to stay in an attitude of praise. Praise Him when you don’t feel like it, Praise Him even when you don’t feel Him moving. God wants to know that you love Him for who He is, not for what He can give you.

I believe if we are to truly see God in all His glory we need to take Him out of the box that we have so carefully placed Him in. Quit playing Church and start seeking His face, quit worrying about scaring off new believers. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman. If the Holy Spirit is allowed to move freely without restrictions then people are going to come to church but more importantly they will stay.

Some people have this idea that they can minimize what the Holy Spirit wants to do in their services and still experience all that God has for them. While, we can certainly limit what God wants to do in our services, it will never be all that it was meant to be as long as man is running the church and not God.

Regardless of what’s going on in your church, you can Praise Him in your own way. Just continue Praising Him, loving Him and seeking Him and He will gladly enter in.

-To God Be the Glory

Have No Fear!

I am hoping this finds you all well and in good spirits this week? I wanted to start off by telling you that Good things are about to happen. I am excited in my spirit and I know that God is on the move. I know that many of you have been discouraged by the economy, with gas prices and food prices going up its hard not to. Not to mention people have been laid off work or just not able to find a job in general. I know this really should sound depressing but it doesn’t have to be. Or at least not for the children of God.

You see we as His children are to live in the world but not be of the world. Which means we do not live by the world’s standards. God is our supplier he is our source. We need only to trust in Him and He will take care of us. So then why do we worry so much about what is going on with the raging gas prices and the economy in general?  Human nature I guess.

Well truth be told we need to cast off that old man and get with the new man that is in us. The one that excepted Christ is the one that should be living through us. The Christ like nature that has boldness and has no fear. The Christ like nature that has no worries or cares but is all about doing the Fathers business.

The enemy has been tormenting us with fear for years and we have allowed it, we have accepted it as truth. You see the enemy gives us just enough truth to make it real to us. But we need to be reminded that God does not give us a spirit of fear. ****Be reminded that God has always taken care of you and He will continue to do so as long as you continue to have faith that He will.

You see for without faith it is impossible to please Him. There is no bill that He cant pay there is not debt that He cannot wipe away There is no sickness that He cannot heal or family that He cannot restore. I know you may feel that you are not worthy and maybe you don’t deserve the things God has for you, maybe you have stepped away from God for awhile.

But know that God still has great plans for you. He still has a purpose and a plan for your life. If you will let Him He will take you beyond your wildest imagination. He will surpass anything you could ever imagine for yourself. That includes right now, in the midst of our economy, in the midst of the worlds chaos. Yes our God is bigger than all of it. If you will trust Him He will make a way where there seems to be no way, He will give you rest and peace that surpasses all understanding.

I pray blessings over you this week. Be blessed and be Encouraged.

Calling To The Wise

I’m hoping you have had a blessed week so far. This week I want to talk about something that I don’t think I have addressed before. As with every weekly article, I asked the Lord what He wanted His people to know. And I woke up with this on my heart, so I want you to know that this article is for now. “For such a time as this.”

It is one that I hope will bring encouragement and lift your soul. This article is geared for those 50 yrs old and older. I want to start by telling you that God is Not finished with you!! I am receiving revelation about what to say even as I am writing.

Greater things will you do now than you have done, in your past. I feel that many of you have been in a place of uncertainty and wondering ‘What Now.’ My friends God has not left you and He is not finished with you. God is calling you out today.

He is saying,

“My children, can you not hear, can you not see, do you not know that I am the Almighty God who can do anything? Your eyes and ears have not been shut. Oh ye of little faith, where is you child like faith, where is your expectancy? Have I not brought you this far? More will I do in the days ahead. More will I pour out upon you, if you will only allow me in. Forget your past and rest in me. I am the Lord your God and It is I who have chosen you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. I have come to give you life and to give it to you more abundantly. Do not relive your glory days. Am I not God? I am not done with you and greater things will you do in this hour my child, if only you will trust and believe.” Thank you Father!!

You see many of you have felt like God is done with you because of your age. Far from it my friends. The body of Christ needs you more than ever! Many of the new churches today would be doing so much better if only they had the wisdom from the elders. But yet many of them are full of baby Christians. But they need spiritual mothers and fathers. People just like you to impart the wisdom and experiences you have.

Wow, the awesome things we could learn from you, if only you would step out and believe in yourself. Believe that word today and know that God is not finished with you. I also feel that for many of you, God is calling you out of your church homes. He wants to move you. He is causing a stirring in your spirit. You know what it is yet you have ignored Him.

God is asking more of you today. Are you willing to step out of your comfort zone? Are you willing to walk away from your religious routine? God is requiring more of you. Answer Him today, say “Yes Lord I will go where you want me to go and I will do what you want me to do and I will say what you would have me to say.”

Surely you know if God is asking more, it is because He loves you and wants to bless you and others. Friends listen to your heart today and I know that God will show you what you are to do. I love you all, Be blessed and be encouraged. Greater days lie ahead.–Be Blessed

Obituary; Common Sense

I ran across this the other day and felt I needed to pass it along. It is profound. What has happened to the simpler times? What has happened that we have become so busy? So serious and so rigid? When did our morality meter get thrown out the window? God help us!!–

My parents told me about Mr. Common Sense early in my life and told me I would do well to call on him when making decisions. It seems he was always around in my early years but less and less as time passed by. Today I read his obituary. Please join me for a moment of silence in remembrance. For Common Sense had served us all so well for so many generations.

Obituary -Common Sense-

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn’t always fair, and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.

Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t legally defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three step brothers; I Know my Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I’m a Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

In sadness all I can say is God help us because this is the day in which we live.
